The Gross Family

Jacob Gross was born about 1740 in Germany.

His wife was named Sabina.

Sabina and Jacob's children may have included:

Jacob Gross (1790, married Sarah Farrington),
Jonathan Gross,
Sabrina Gross (married William Engle),
David Gross,
Solomon Gross.

They were probably members of the Piney Creek Presbyterian Church in Taneytown, Maryland and moved with Joseph's Rhea's followers to Eastern Tennessee.

In 1789, Jacob Gross received grant 197 in Sullivan County.

On November 17, 1790 Jacob bought 300 acres on south side of the Holston River for 150 shillings in a part of Sullivan County, North Carolina that became Claiborne County, Tennessee.

In 1840 a Jacob Gross was living in Piney Flats.
